The March full moon lunar eclipse today
We can appreciate it both on an astronomical and astrological level,
The full moon interrupted by the shadow of the earth.
A moment of dark stillness between the sailing beauty of the round moon as she turns upon her penumbral orbit. This March moon is also known as the worm moon – as life quickens deep within the earth – deep within us – just at the beginning of the astrological year – just beyond the equinox.
The astrologers say this is a unique event because of where exactly it takes place, in the constellation of Libra. Where great change is possible, even unavoidable.
Everything hangs in the balance – those eerie moments of silence as the shadow races across the earth – a moment of contemplation – a time to go inward as the light is blocked by the planet we stand on. A time to realize how small we are, you are a tiny being on a planet circling a sun with a moon we have barely reached, hurtling through chilly space among the glittering stars.
Unlike the upcoming solar eclipse on the 8th April, we can see this one with the naked eye.
We can take a damn good look at what is happening in the darkness – also the darkness within – and come into balance.
Sometimes you can see so much better in the dark.
